Behind the Scenes

Christina Wu recently graduated with a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California. Her interest in hookah started out during her undergraduate years. Several times a week, Wu would walk past a nearby hookah cafe and wondered what people were smoking. The smoke smelled so different from cigarette smoke - it was sweet and pleasant. Wu also wondered if this was a legal form of smoking. Wu tried her first hookah during her senior year in college and has been an occasional waterpipe smoker ever since. She owns a hookah, but has recently cut down on smoking in the interest of time and health concerns.
